Hardware Getting a Wii with Wiikey

I bought a Wii modded with WiiKey from the same store I bought my modded PS2 a while back and according to tracking it should be here today.

Is there anything I should be cautious of as far as getting updates for either the Wii or the WiiKey firmware to make sure I don't screw up/brick my system?
I remember all the talk over Super Paper Mario bricking systems and I want to avoid something like that happening to mine (mine's NTSC though).

You got to watch out with imports as they may contain updates that are not supposed to be run on your Wii. But not all games have this problem and recently a tool was made that removes the update from a disc by patching the iso.
So no worries about that anymore!
