Today is August 15th and that means it's Sonic Mania Day! (No, not THAT Sonic Mania Day). The game is now OUT on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch.

To celebrate the release of Sonic Mania, GBAtemp is giving away 2 copies of the game on your platform of choice as a digital code.

The rules are quite simple, we will be selecting 1 random viewer of the stream as a winner, and alternatively another copy will be available via this thread if you can't watch the stream. All you have to do is post in this thread and let us know what is your favourite Sonic level (from any Sonic game) and why (a sentence or two minimum). The 2nd winner will be randomly selected from the thread in 48 hours from the time of this post.

My favourite Sonic level has to be Emerald Coast from Sonic Adventure. Everything about the Level is beautiful. The looks, the Music, and the level design is great too. Sonic Adventure was my first Game ever on my first console I ever owned, the Dreamcast. I remember playing it everyday for such a long time. After my Dreamcast got sold by my mother, I never played it again until I saw this video on youtube back in 2008
After seeing it I looked for a way to play it and I found a pc demo of the game which just had emerald coast. I played the demo secretly on my mothers old computer when she went to work. After that I got the gamecube version and just enjoyed it to its fullest, 100%ing every version there is. When I start playing SA1 I legit cannot put it down.

City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2.
This is my favorite level because of its amazing soundtrack and upbeat feeling to the theme of the level. It's what I sing along to with my friends when I have it playing on some of my CDs and it's the most memorable level I have ever played from a Sonic game.

The Chao Garden is something I sorely miss, and this is what first introduced it in the second game with the Chao keys. (I know the first game did it, but that was more of an adventure field rather than something earned.)

Plus you can destroy cars with your hedgehog quills.

Sonic 1 - Final Zone
I'm sure many gamers got the chills when arriving at the Final Zone. Especially when reading the text Final Zone, and that awesome fitting music that starts!
You don't wanna give up anymore, you just want to beat the game. Especially when you only have like 1 life left and no continues anymore....

My favourite is Flying battery zone from sonic & knuckles. I really like the level desing and the soundtrack

Favorite classic level? Mystic cave in sonic 2. Was pretty big on darkwing duck at the time and the music had more than a passing nod to it, while being its own thing.

Favorite modern level? City escape in sonic adventure 2. It just set the tone so wonderfully. And crush 40 slayed it in the remake on generations.

My favourite level has to be Casino Night from Sonic 2. I love the sense of speed and my least favourite is probably Marble Zone from Sonic 1 (hate that level)

I use to play sonic non stop as a kid on my sega genesis. Casino night zone has to be my favorite level of any sonic game. The atmosphere , the music, and the mini games were amazing. Plus as a kid i got to gamble for the first time thanks to sonic. ( sooo many eggmans )

Favorite level you ask? Going with Pumpkin Hill from Sonic Adventure 2. Why you may ask? That amazing background song they had jamming the entire level.

I'm gonna say Mushroom Hill zone from S&K, because I loved bouncing on the mushrooms throughout the level. Was awesome to play as Knuckles for the first time. He's been my favorite ever since.

I'll enter this one. I'm a huge fan of the classic sonic games, and sonic mania seems to really get back to the roots.

My favorite level of the originals was the casino level in sonic 2. It had a ton of secret routes which made replaying it more fun each time as you continued to explore. The pinball games using sonic as a ball was a nice touch. And there was something satisfying about hitting a jackpot.

People might hate on this, but I also loved the emerald levels when you put sonic 1 in s&k. My friends and I used to play through those for hours.

Oh man, I dont remember much of Sonic levels, so I'll say Green Hill Zone 1 because it's where sonic starts and stay for multiple restarts when I was just a wee kid.

Night Carnival, Act 2 from Sonic Rush. It feels really good to be rushing through this course, and it can be difficult at times. (Well, maybe not, but I was terrible at the time) It featured great music, obstacles and it looks really pleasant.
