Ok so... I found a tutorial on how to hard-mod a micro usb port into a GBA SP so you can charge it with most everyday phone chargers. However, I was wondering if it might also, in the same sense, be possible to add in a USB port, allowing you to connect a USB drive. If you were to rewire the game slot to the USB port, would you not be able to play GBA ROMS loaded from the USB drive? Even only one ROM per USB drive would be ok to start, but then one might go even further and program a type of GUI on the USB drive, allowing you to browse folders and select from multiple ROMs. I was talking to my buddy about it on the bus and he said it might work, but I might have to partition the USB in the same way as a GBA game card... and I think I understand but could someone maybe clarify that for me?

Thanks guys

Aside from what you want to do and theorize on how you want to do it, it has already been done. If you want some resources on making usb cable reader/writer etc, you can start here:

alot of the links to other sites are dead, you might be able to use internet archive for some of those links.
