Hacking GB/GBC On R4

I've just ordered my first R4 to play my old GB/GBC games on my DS and I have a couple of questions.

1) Which is the best emulator for a R4, is it LameBoy?

2) Is there any way possible to Trade / Battle playing the Pokemon Game Boy games [Red, Blue, Yellow]? [2 DS consoles with a R4 each]

Ah, lameboy is abit old my freind. Try GameYob
Near perfect compatibility/speed& Cheat support.
It also supports NiFi linking, to answer #2.
