Hey there.

I'm not sure how to quite describe the issue I'm having, but I'll give it my best shot. As of the previous time I had pulled my Wii out (circa March), everything was working perfectly; USB Loader GX loaded my Wii games from an external hard drive and I could play my Gamecube games off an SD card with Dios Mios Lite. Since I've pulled my Wii out in the last few days, however, I have been getting green screens/freezes when loading Gamecube games. In addition, I have been unable to use my gamecube controllers on Mario Kart Wii or Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Official Gamecube Controllers).

I have re-installed Dios Mios Lite (and tried Dios Mios off a usb stick, still freezes), re-softmodded my Wii, tried different versions of loaders, and I cannot seem to figure out what the issue is.

My current thought it that perhaps something shifted around in my Wii while moving between addresses (in the interim between March and present day) - but I do not currently have the resources on hand to take out a few screws and check.

Oh, I should also mention: my Gamecube controllers are working perfectly fine on the Homebrew Channel, the Loaders, and other applications; it's just when I try to load Wii games.

I am willing to try any suggestions to fixing this. Thank you for your time and help.

Edit: I've posted some updates, look down.

You tried connecting the GC controller on the P2 port for Smash Bros. Brawl right?

Try running SysCheck (downloadable here) and post the results here under the Code Quotes.. (the SysCheck results will be on your SD card with the name "sysCheck.csv" after you run the app)

I don't know if I'll be able to get you a solution, but this is the first step so people can help you.

Thanks for the response. I have tried the gamecube controller in every port, with no response. The Wii Controller stays as the Player One controller.

Here are the results of the .csv file:

I also tried playing "Paper Mario" from the Wii Shop Channel. The gamecube controller worked perfectly fine.

Going to try re-installing an older version of DML to see if that works (if I don't update the OP, assume it didn't).

are you using cheat codes? ..maybe they are causing problems wit the controller recognition ...or the iso was badly scrubbed ? ...um.. not sure if those could be a cause..

Well, I'm not the most suited for helping you here .. but If you are still loading your games from USB Loader GX when getting this issues, try asking for help in the main thread for the loader, who knows...

Well, I have some time to work on this problem again, so I'm back.

I don't use cheat codes (well, aside from an attempt a while back to play Brawl+). Even still, I tried disabling (and enabling) the option on USB Loader GX to no avail. It's also worth mentioning that I have the same issue when I use other bootloaders.

Any ideas?

Further update:

(I tried ModMii to reinstall the softmod; it did not work, unfortunately :\)

From some testing: I installed some other N64 games as wads. When I boot the games off of the main menu, the games load perfectly fine (and GC controllers work). When I try booting any of the games from a loader, I recieve a message that I need to have a classic controller plugged in (i.e. I can't use my GC controllers). This leads me to believe that the underlying issue is with the usb loaders. I have tried different revisions of a couple loaders, all with the same issue. I also tried doing a clean install of MIOSv10 on IOS249, with the same issue.

I'm still open to any suggestions that you all may have :).

Nope. Doesn't work.

I booted into 236, and the loader booted in to 222 R4. I installed MIOSv10 on 222 and 236; gamecube controller still isn't working on Brawl upon boot.

Thank you for the suggestion though.
