Thanks man, it's working now :)
you don't need the updater if you know how to use cIOS installer homebrew.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/5ggh53tj9hhp1tr/d2x-cios-installer-3.1-v6-v7-v8-v10-wii.7z

you currently have old cIOS.
IOS249[56] (rev 20 Info: rev 20): Flash Access, NAND Access
IOS250[38] (rev 20 Info: rev 20): Flash Access, NAND Access

you need to update to at lease rev21 d2x v8
IOS249[56]
IOS250[57]

in the installer, choose this:
d2x v8
slot 249
base 56
version 21008

and

d2x v8
slot 250
base 57
version 21008

if you don't know how to use the installer, you can use modmii to update all your softmod.

I use Configurable USB Loader, and it does the same thing.. I get a black screen when trying to load a wii game.

Hi there
I have simillar problem with black screen whenever I load Super smash bros brawl
I follow your suggestion to change IOS249 and IOS250 using d2x cIos Installer
However it resulted in failure although I already install the wad required using wad manager in multi mod manager

Do you have a clue what is wrong ?

Hello.:)

If you use a USB Flash Drive/USB Stick etc. that maybe causes the problem. Please try an extern HDD instead if it is so.

If you use WiiBackupmanager to copy the game on your USB device please check the size of the game on your USB device, because i remember that was an DVD Dual Layer Game (bigger than 4.7 GB).Maybe the size of your game is not correct and therefor the game did not start.

Thank you.:)

Thank you for your reply
I use an external HDD to load the game
Only Super Mario Bros Brawl that can not load
I already try using several app such as wii flow, usb loader GX, Configurable usb loader, Neogamma
Other games works fine

I follow instruction from this link to change IOS249 & IOS250 but failed
sites google com site completesg backup-launchers installation
I can not share the full link since i am new in this forum, so the space between is reference to backslash

if only one game doesn't work, and even more when it's identical in multiple loaders, it's often the game's ISO issue.
Smash bros is the only game with multiple partition table, and WiiBackupManager doesn't seem to be compatible with that.
it may break the ISO when converting to wbfs.

you could try to dump your disc directly in a usbloader instead.

or use Wit (wii iso tool) to convert/split the game to wbfs.

I also had mixed reports with dumping that game in the loader, so just try and see if it works.

the game has 2 partition table, and 3 partitions.
[Update, game], [Other].

In USBGX, first be sure the dump setting is set to "remove update partition" or "dump everything", and not "keep game partition" only, or you'll miss the extra partition containing the WADs of eshop channels.
it should be in the HDD settings. that's where we put the game dump destination so it also has option on what to dump.

Then, insert the game disc while being in the main interface (where you see your game list), and a prompt will appear asking you whether you want to install the game (to HDD) or mount it (to play from disc instead of HDD).
if the disc is already inside, you can also click on the disc icon on the rightmost part of the top menu, but It's easier to just insert the disc while inside USBGX.

After the dump, you could verify the iso (or wbfs) with Wit/wwt to be sure it's complete with both game+Other partitions.
let me know if the dump worked of failed, just by curiosity.

Hello,

given your syscheck report, you installed the cios 249 on the 37 (bad), you must reinstall the cios 249 on the base 56 (correct)

after that it will be ok

I try different method or options, such as
cIOS 249 base 56 v10 beta52
cIOS 250 base 57 v10 beta52
cIOS: v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52
cIOS base: 56
cIOS slot: 249
cIOS version: 65535

cIOS: v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52
cIOS base: 57
cIOS slot: 250
cIOS version: 65535

cIOS: v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52
cIOS base: 58
cIOS slot: 251
cIOS version: 65535

I listed above what you needed to select :
use d-PAD to change line and choices

D2x v8 Final
base 57 (NOT 37)
slot 249
revision 21008
then press A to install (it will show you a confirmation screen first, with slots and you should see slot249 blinking), press A again.

I hope you have online access, as it will download the needed files from nintendo's servers.
after install, you can press home to exit and launch the loader.

But the game still won't load
I already try USB loader GX, Neo Gamma R9 Beta 56, USB Loader CFG, Wii Flow
The screen still went black and wii remote also shut off
The game I was trying to play is Super Smash Brawl Bros
I had it as WBFS format on External HDD
The other game works fine

I already try USB loader GX, Neo Gamma R9 Beta 56, USB Loader CFG, Wii Flow
The screen still went black and wii remote also shut off
The game I was trying to play is Super Smash Brawl Bros
I had it as WBFS format on External HDD
The other game works fine

what is the format of your hard drive (wbfs, fat 32, NTFS) ??

Recommend ==> FAT32

Use "" wii backup manager "" to manage your games ==>http://www.wiibackupmanager.co.uk/downloads.html

maybe your game is corrupt

Hello.:)

I have tried many "Sources" from the Internet and not a Single one is working for me neither on the PAL or the NTSC Wii.
So I got the Game (used,in "useable" Condition around 15 Euros) and installed it with the USBLoader GX Option.
And this works finally for me.:D

I would also "tap again on it" that it is your Game ISO as it seems and as you confirmed the only Game that is not working.
You can"tinker" around with different cIOS Combinations as much as you like,it will not work.:)

And Cyan already suggested it to you,try to copy/dump your Game Disc to the HDD.

Thank you.:)

Thanks for your suggestion but I don't have the game disc :D

Good Point.:)
Then try this please:

- use the TRANSFER Option from WiiBackup Manager and create an ISO from the Game again.
- Delete the Game from the HDD.
- in WiiBackupManager -> Options - Settings - Genereal check "Keep Game Partition only".
- Import your Game and transfer it to your HDD again.
- should be now like this:

Good Luck.
Thank you.:)

I thought I've read Wii Backup Manager doesn't work with Smash Bros.
you need to use wit/wwt to copy that game on your HDD, or dump the disc yourself.

Sorry, I am lost with your suggestion
really ? you are lost ?

1. Launch USBGX
2. insert the disc
3. click "install"

too hard.

you shouldn't hack, just insert your disc on System menu and play the game from disc.

given your syscheck report, you installed the cios 249 on the 37 (bad), you must reinstall the cios 249 on the base 56 (correct)
Why would you suggest something hard when he already has what's best?
just suggest to change the loader's setting to use slot250 instead of 249!

IOS249[37] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

his slot250 already contains the proper cIOS, no need to (re)install another one. even more when he seems already lost in how to insert a disc in the console.
at least, suggesting base56 wasn't too bad, as he already had 57. that way we would have both 56 (for spyro) and 57 (for everything else).

But I see he reinstalled the correct version in slot249 (so now he has duplicate IOSes for no reasons).
the game dump is probably bad dump. not a cIOS problem.
