'Shadow Moses' is the remake of the classic 1998 Metal Gear Solid in Unreal Engine 4 by some dedicated fans. The first trailer for the game was released just yesterday, entitled 'First Trailer' and it is visually impressive and aims to be the HD remake we never had. See it by yourself:

Speaking of official stuff, the team does not have carte blanche from Konami to release the remake. However they are aware that some talks need to take place and have posted the following on their Facebook page:

We just need to clarify something:

Konami owns the MGS copyright and therefore sooner or later we will need their full permission.

We have therefore chosen to openly share this project from the beginning so that we can deal with any issues that may arise as they come.

We believe this is better than putting years of work into a project only to get it shut down.

Please, respect this decision.

Thanks for your attention,
Airam.

Konami hasn't made any move as of yet, so we can still keep our hopes up. Hopefully things won't turn out to be as in the case of this Metal Gear remake by team Outer Heaven.

With Airam Hernandez at the helm, he says that it all started as a project to recreate MGS environments and make a "museum game" for those who wanted to explore the base with current technology. Following increasing support and interest for the project from people all over the internet, he decided to make an entire remake of the game.

It's nothing against pachinko, I just find it distasteful that Konami would take its most popular, prolific franchises and halt development on video games, what most consider to be a deeply engaging and complex form of art, and dumb them down into something like pachinko, pinball, board games, etc. They've effectively lobotomized their IP's for a quick and easy cash-out. No-one thinks that you shouldn't enjoy these kinds of activities, I can get into a good board game with the rest of 'em, but they've clearly removed all sense of effort on their part or complexity in the experience to sell purely on love for their IP's. Video game themed pachinko sets are not a bad thing, but people get upset when they completely supplant what used to be a relatively more complex form of artistic expression.
i can see what your saying there, but honestly that doesn't mean they should stop doing all the spin off stuff, because its actually pretty good, i really hope they keep doin pachinko and spin offs of the other ips, but they shouldn't abandon the video game portion no, not at all

pachinko is like...fun as hell tho, have you even played it? if not you dont really have a right to judge, its literally just more complicated pinball, pinball spin offs have been around for decades and people only seem to be making a stink about it now that konami and atlus and everybody is doing them, you people need to chill

I think you meant to reply to the original message. Or I just seem sarcastic. Suuuurrre I do..
