How could I extract the audio from my Wii U's HDMI out? I would like to use my PC monitor but it has no sound support.
It is not, how much do you think I could get away with; I only want the standard 3.5mm stereo jack. You can get boxes that split the audio and video but they are expensive.
It would be much easier if the Wii U could output audio over composite/component even when HDMI is being used, sadly I don't think that's the case.
It's your lucky day, this one is on sale for cheap: http://www.amazon.com/J-Tech-Digital-Premium-Extractor-Converter/dp/B00BIQER0EIt is not, how much do you think I could get away with; I only want the standard 3.5mm stereo jack.
HDMI 2.0 did come out recently, and thank goodness that analog out is analog out; eh?It's your lucky day, this one is on sale for cheap: http://www.amazon.com/J-Tech-Digital-Premium-Extractor-Converter/dp/B00BIQER0E
Edit: There are even cheaper ones here http://www.ebay.com/bhp/hdmi-audio-extractor but I don't know if they are any good. On Amazon you at least have reviews to go by.
I could swear they used to cost a lot more not long ago.
