Hi,

Does an external HDD hooked up to a PS3 (for videos and games) have to be formatted FAT32?

I seem to remember that it had to be, but is there a way to use a NTFS HDD?

Thanks!

The XMB (the official one) only read FAT32 as external file system.

If you want to use NTFS then you will need multiMAN which allows you to store and play media files from NTFS directly from the manager.
But you can't load or mount a content from NTFS and let the manager reboot to XMB to read it (for example, a game, or mounting AVCHD to be played on XMB).
