Hacking ePSP custom bubble thing error upon installation

I tried the thing and since the thread with it tells me nothing/doens't help here's what I did.

I put a dummy act.dat in the directory as descrbied, then I let it restart my PSTV then upon restarting it says the following.

Hello from blah blah

error installing
error blah blah.

Teh error seems to be an error about not benig activated but according to the thread you have to put a dummy act.dat or else it won't let you go forward and will be stuck in a reboot loop(as is what happened to me).

I haven't gotten a PSN account set up on it yet and haven't activated it and watned to do this to save space and not have to worry about accidental updating.

how do I sign into the PSN acount when sny is now checking to make sure that you're actually on latest firmware?

I already have a PSN account and the linking part never happens because in the thread forpeople with issues it says to _wait_ till the epsp bubble is installed before you try to sign into PSN.

They don't force you to update during initial setup. Just do as he says, and try again.
