Hardware Elgato Game Capture HD - Black screen in VC games

Hello GBATEMP community,

I have no problems with my Elgato Game Capture HD on the Wii, expect for one:

I can record N64 VC games but the lower systems in VC (NES, SNES) only appear as blackscreen when connected to Elgato, you can hear the sound and if you press the home button while you're in the game, you can see the home menu.

Please help me! And please don't say, that I can use an emulator. Thx

I'm afraid I have no clue, as my Elgato easily captured Mega Man 1 on Wii U VC.

Im using a Wii (4.1E)

This might be related to the fact that NES/SNES VC runs at "240p" (non-interlaced 240-line mode) by default, even if the system is set to 480p.

Some VC titles were later updated to include an option to force 480i. To try this, connect a nunchuk, then press Z+A+2 simultaneously. If it worked, you'll hear a beep.

If this still doesn't work, you may be able to force 480i and/or 480p video using a custom loader like USB Loader GX.
