I think you are referring to Tunneling the DS local wifi via the Wii and the net to play with another friend on Local game only (not from WFC) ?
The wii can't do that until we can use homebrew, and until a firmware hack or new modchip.

Then if you ask about games connectivity between Wii and DS, yes it already exists.
Pokémon and Geometry wars (I don't know any other).
It's actually not working with flashcard. you need an original game card.

Yes, geomtry wars has some DS - Wii connection.
The Wii can send out a demo to download play of a DS.
And the DS version can enable an extra galaxy in the Wii version.

For DS games that upload data to the Wii (like PBR -not pabst blue ribbon-) you need one of the few carts that support it, the cyclo being one. For things like Geometry Wars download playing a game to the DS, you don't even need a flash cart.

Yea so far nintendo has kinda dropped the ball on that whole DS to Wii feature. The gamecube seemed to have a lot more support for the GBA to GC linking.

Or is it perhaps up to the developers and not Nintendo, hmm? I'd say the ball is in the hands of those who develop a game.

No no, its easier to place blame on the hardware manufacturer, even though they added a functionality that has already been used by several games. We should still blame the hardware manufacturer. In fact, I'm really pissed off at Dell right now because theres an issue with widescreen monitors in Bioshock.
