I do not own a ps3 but I have been following the scene for a while now.
I own a wii and I have a 2.5tb drive but because of the new hardware the wii does not completely support it. The homebrew scene really hasn't added support for it because it is not too popular.

So I was wondering if anyone has tested watching media, using backup loaders, and just using a 2.5tb or 3tb drive in general works with the ps3?

According to psx-scene, it will only accept up to two terabytes. Although it may work with a larger drive if the first partition is less than 2 TB, not sure

Oh than probably not. It has to do with hardware, no software can fix it. I have done tons of research when I ran into the problem with the Wii. Thanks for the info though. Unless it does support 4kb sectors. Which it could.
I'm curious how backup loaders work as well. I guess it splits files like the Wii does? Cause the games are over 4gb for sure.
