I bought the Ninty dongle today, and have tested it using commercial carts AND the SKey/SC combo, using both SCminiSD in my DS and SCLite in my son's. Everything has gone well .. MKDS and Tetris were successful. But then we each booted up Animal Crossing, got our respective friend codes, and shared. But when each of us put in the other's friend code, the game said the code wasn't valid.
Now here's the catch ... I'm playing AC:WW and my son's playing Oide yo Doubutsu no Mori. Even though we're playing from the same residence, is it possible that NWFC will not allow us to hook up because of the language barrier between the two versions of the game? I thought these would be accessible to one another, but perhaps on WFC they really do count as two different games?
I'm not suggesting that he can't hook up to WFC in North America because he's playing a (J) game - I've already done that with MKDS(J) and had no problems.
My wife and oldest son (stepson, but we don't say that) are Japanese BTW, so they prefer playing the J versions when they can.
