Gaming Do you need to wiggle your d-pad to get a boost in Mario Kart 7 like you needed to do in MK DS?

Also I didn't know if it was already mentioned, alot of reading in here, and I don't know if this thread had anything to do with me picking up Mario Kart 7 again, or if I'm just bored, but drift boosts in this game are performed and executed by how much you're leaning into your drift, and if I'm not mistaken, apparently the curvature of the track also plays a factor in how fast or slow you can boost. On many larger turns you can pull up to as many as 3 charges, so three okay boosts, or one okay and one great boost. Deeper turns can quickly fill 2 charges, but you do need to "wiggle your d-irectional input" to maintain your control when drifting. So in a way, you do need to wiggle your d-pad to perform a boost, its not as automatic as it was in Mario Kart Wii, and its not as manual as it was in Mario Kart DS.
