I have a BLUETOOTH DUALSHOCHIII and it does work with the PSTV, but I have to always have the cord plugged into the usb slot on the PSTV end and mini USB on the controller end. I don't believe the lights ever stop blinking.
I bought a cheap red/black wireless PS3 controller, and it wouldn't sync, but it would work if it was plugged in with the charging cable.

No luck with a similiar model (which has "P3" written on the home button)

Got one of these, shitty build quality (had to replace the usb port) and shitty battery life, but it works wired and wireless
This one (made, well "imported" by the rather unknown Italian company "IT-Why") doesn't have the actual capacitive touchpad (yet there's a connector on board), but it has the mechanical button so you can't move the pointer but you can click...!
I saw a bigger thread about unofficial controllers but couldn't find it now, maybe it was on a different forum.
