    Sorry to quote you replying to someone else's post, but would you have any suggestions for hex editing? I had cheats for the japanese one that i used for fun to unlock the entire journal and honestly I am way too eager to see all the enemy names in the official english version, but I'm very unskilled with things like knowing which hexes are what when it comes to things that aren't money since that's the only ones i've managed to do on my own so far.

    You can extract the message file from the demo and tuck it to the japanese version (along with the font or almost every character will have a big ? on it). Pretty much all the UI and names are translated but when it comes to dialog, everything after the castle is empty and full of <NULL> errors.

    May I ask how I can get to those files specifically? I'm sorry if i'm asking quite a few questions since i'm rather new to all this still, i'm just happy that i'm getting some answers in the end because this is something I really want to do
    fortunately i just want to read the names of all the enemies, so the lack of dialogue will be no problem really

    If you have CFW enabled on your 3ds you can extract the cia of the english demo using Godmode9 and extract the romfs on your computer, then patch the japanese version with your english file and font

    You can use GodMode9 to extract the files (SYSNAND SD -> title -> 00040002 -> 001b4e01 -> content -> 00000000.app)
    romfs/us/svn_font are the font files, and romfs/us/svn_message are the texts.

    You can use Luma's Game Patching to use them.

    Actually, everything in the journal menu is translated, including enemy names that are after where the demo cuts off afaik.

    I found the 00000000.app in godmode9, but do i decrypt the file to sd or make it into a cia?

    To make the files usable, the correct paths for the japanese version are:
    cmn/svn_font/svn_font.sarc
    cmn/svn_message/svn_message.sarc

    Also once i have found the message and font files, how do i extract them so i can patch the game with them? (or do i not do that?)

    Copy them. GM9 has an option to copy files to sd:/gm9out

    Oh! Alright, and for the japanese version is it the same romf, or is it a different one?

    Move the files to luma/titles/0004000000178800/romfs/cmn/svn_[...]

    You've been able to replace the text in the JP version of the game? Or just import the text from the demo? Do you plan on picking up where the OP left off?

    I've had tons of fun playing the demo... Who still has the handler? I wouldn't mine playing 1 - 3 assuming that's all they translated.

    Hey, quick question, by the [...], what do you mean, I have my luma folder set up to what I would think would be correctly, but the menu text is still in Japanese. I've placed the demo files you'd specified in the respective folders as well. May I please get some clarification? Thank You!

    I found out your problem! You put cmd instead of cmn for the one of the folders!
