[Development] Miitopia english translation and plugin for Kuriimu

    Hello everyone!

    Me and my girlfriend are working on Miitopia english translation. She's mainly working on the translation and I am trying to get the plugin going so it can help with the translation.

    She's more experienced than me in tinkering with all the 3ds tools and the extracted files for the game. I am programmer myself but I've never done work like this one before and it's my first time.

    I don't have much time but I am doing my best : )

    Currently I show the control codes and I am trying to figure out their meaning.

    We've added labels for some of the control codes and we are working on adding more:

    If you didn't read the tag in the thread name, it's says development. Which means it's currently in progress. :>

    I could upload the plugin somewhere. But it is still an early version and not yet finished. It's not part of Kuriimu yet.

    UPDATE: All menus and almost all buttons have been fully translated! I am now starting to work on the game's dialogue, which is currently around 2% complete on estimate.

    Anyone interested in rewriting parts of the script are welcome to get involved!

    You will need to have a 3DS with either the Homebrew Launcher (available on 11.3 and below) or a CFW 3DS with the latest Luma Hourly version (only for firmwares 11.2 and below).

    We will be releasing patches for both Luma and HBL when more work has been done on the project. As of right now, there's not much to see other than a bunch of English menus, very rough cutscene translations and a few weirdly-named creatures and song titles.

    Is there a way to put the translation on a Japanese 3DS, because I had to play the whole game with it. (BTW I finished the game by being forced to read all the non-understandable Japanese letters.)

    The patch should be compatible with all devices of any region, so long as they have access to at least HBL and HANS. If you are on 11.3, you may want to check out Soundhax.

    Btw you used Citra to record, didn't you? Or does the game slow down that way on console :s?

    Yeah, I had to record with Citra because the wifi was too slow at the time to stream with NTR. :P From my experience with the game, there has been no occurrence of slowing down or dips in framerate/audio on the console. ^_^

    Wish i could help! You are making some big progress! Most translationprojects are slow as heck and then get cancelled:C. The Hype Train is coming!
