Well then, if this is true, should I just wait until they make a trilogy pack?

They released so many freaking great games in 2017 and have a large lineup for 2018. How many more original games could you ask for!?

Really? Like what? Xenoblade, Splatoon, Mario Kart, and Mario Odyssey? BOTW is on the Wii U. Ok, so four games that are worth a damn.. The rest of the games they have released are low quality 3rd party games, and ports that are years old that most of us already have on other consoles. Just imagine what Nintendo could do if they pulled all their resources off of coding these ports and remakes, and applied those resources to actually producing new, original titles. Sadly, Nintendo seems to be more caught up with making a quick buck today than they are in creating something new that will continue to make them relevant for years to come.

Everyone does remakes and remasters. Its not a Nintendo thing but a gaming industry thing.

I'm not sure if Nintendo are porting Dark Souls but I was under the impression it would be from software doing it.

Nintendo's own ports and remasters are generally quite nice and upgraded versions, such as Wind Waker HD, OOT 3DS etc.

metroid 2, mario and rabbids, snipperclips and pokemon also came out this year, and even though 2 of them are 3ds, they took time away from people who would have been making switch games. also factor in the people working on mp4 and fire emblem for next years release. and you know nintendo doesnt make these ports right? dks1, skyrim, doom, they dont interfere with new nintendo games. from is doing this, not nintendo.

As a huge Dark Souls fan, portable Dark Souls is like a dream come true. Honestly I could see myself panting and freaking out in so many public situations whilst playing this.

I'd say a portable remaster/port is FAR more advantageous and less of a cashgrab than a '4k remaster'.

Now we will see how durable the switch is... How many times can you throw the switch against the wall out of anger before the screen brakes

Maybe that's the new plan to boost sale figures.

Are they gonna be remastering it for 4K? Because I'm pretty sure all three games can be played in 4K on PC already. Only Dark Souls (1) had some framerate issues.

EDIT: Yep, DS1 4K@60FPS remaster. Well shit. My poor wallet.

I don't really like remasters. I mean if they would change the low poly stuff that would be cool but most remasters only add better textures. And can you really call it a remaster if it comes to the switch? Sounds more like a port gg

It's coming to PC, other consoles, and Switch. So yeah, still a remaster, just getting released on more platforms than the original.

DS1 is the one game I'm willing to buy a remaster on PC for, since that one ran poorly and had some other issues. On Switch I'm willing to re-buy all three Dark Souls games, because it's portable Dark Souls (duh). No true fan of the franchise would be against the idea of that.

I'd have to see performance to buy all three on the Switch. I will probably buy DS1.. But after the abysmal performance of DS3 on consoles? No.

Fair enough, I didn't know DS3 was real bad on consoles. It wasn't as optimized as DS2 for PC, but DS3 was still a solid 60FPS at 1440p.

DS3 imo runs far better than DS2 on PC. I watched my brother play DS3 on the Xbox One and it was unnerving. It came to a crawl in the first level it was so bad. I understand patches fixed it a bit, but even today it's not a fun experience.

DS2 ran at a solid 60 FPS in 4K for me, DS3 had consistent drops to below 50 at that resolution. I should check again though, as my GPU had to be replaced a month or so after I had been playing DS3.

Dark Souls no, it's not Nintendo. I mean it's nice the Switch gets it as well since PS4 and Xbox One gets it on the console side as well. Take just shows that 3rd party care for the Switch at all.

Imagine that, the portable system isn't as powerful as a top tier pc. Who would have guessed. Most non gaming laptops will probably run it at 720 60 or 1080 30 and cost 3x as much. Also it doesnt run in 4k on ps4 and xbone, it runs in 1080 and is internally upscaled. A 4k tv will do the same thing almost as well with the switch version.

Ds1 is a fast paced action rpg, i would rather sacrifice resolution to get the game runs at 60 fps on switch
