    Hello!

Like a lot of persons on this forum, I really loved Elite Beat Agents and Ouendan. Now that I finished those two, I am searching for other weird music games.

I tried Gitaroo Man (and I absolutely love it [IMG] ), Taiko Drum Master (really fun with the big drum) and Un Jammer Lammy (it's good, but really inferior to EBA and Gitaroo in my opinion).

I don't really want to invest in a game with accessories, like DDR or Guitar Hero.

    What are your suggestions? [IMG]

    Thanks in advance,

    -Gab

It seems like you have a psp, so portable DJ Max is a good game for the psp. Also I haven't tried it yet, but Pump it Up Exceeded Portable, is another game of that genre.

As for the DS, there isn't much besides what you listed. The only one worth mentioning is Daigasso Band Brothers, which isn't as good as EBA or Ouendan.

Yeah, I played Elektroplankton. It was fun, but it don't have any "goal", it's more of a toy. I got bored pretty fast.

EDIT: No, I don't have a PSP... I played the PS2 versions of Gitaroo Man and Taiko.

Amplitude and it's prequel, Frequency. Awesome games that never got much recognition.

    Keep trying!
Nothing to do with rhythm but Soundvoyager from the bit generations series for GBA is a pretty nice music game. Also that DS guitar program is awesome and I love the homebrew program called Axe which is really simple but lets you make stupid music on the go. [IMG]

the whole world is in my hands.
Elete beat agenst owes its existence to Osu Tatake Ouendan... and ouendan owes its sails to the music loving fans out there. yess those ddr boys and girls who watch anime and imported japanese games by the dozzens

if it wasnt for the imports of osu tatake ouendan. eba would have never been made.
if it wasnt for ddr and beatmania djmax would have never been made or osu tatake ouendan.
if it wasnt for games like vib ribbon and parapappa the rappa we wouldnt have any music games like we do today. and happy feet is a ddr ripoff not a eba rip off

I don't have a PSP, but isn't GM Lives just a port of the PS2 version?

Yeah, I know Vib Ribbon too (finally, there is a lot of games that I forgot to mention in my first post!). The art style was great, but I tought it didn't read the beat in the songs really well...

Frets on Fire? I will look for this one! [IMG]

Whoops. It quoted that weird. Here is what I was trying to say: I'd now recommend the rest of the Parappa series. The only problem is, that the games are very short, and beating the rest of the games would take like an hour at most.

    Let's see... (all for PC):

    Kickbeat (steam edition)
    audiosurf
bit.trip: runner 2 (or more specific: all the bit.trip games are music games)
    Symphony
    crypt of the necrodancer
    Melody's escape
    metronomicon: slay the dance floor
    Waveform

And while I notice you don't want to invest, I'd still recommend rocksmith 2014. Yes, it requires a cable that costs more than the actual game (if bought on sale), not to forget an actual electric guitar. But in the long run, it's really worth it

Despite it not being my kind of music I really do like Hatsune Miku on the 3DS, yet also those FF Theaterhythm games were truly solid too. TS made a good call with Gitarooman too.

I recently tried VOEZ on Switch and I thought it was quite charming! An easy, quick game with good music and is very relaxing. I especially like that the various "tracks" music cues come down from can move around with the beat of the music. Makes the whole game feel a lot more dynamic and interesting. Best of all, its still designed to be played with only two fingers so you don't need to worry about being screwed by a weird pattern that requires odd finger placement. If you haven't tried it, I recommend it! You don't need a Switch either, as it's available on iOS and Android for free (with a weekly song rotation).

Note that if you DO plan on buying it, get it on Switch if you have a Switch, because it costs over $100+ to buy all the songs on iOS/Android (insane, I know) but you get 'em all on the Switch eShop in one $25 package.
