Games and especially exclusives make a system. I like Metroid, Zelda, Mario, and will say Zelda/Metroid are obsessions. Wife bought me Windwaker HD but added we could use money for my kids. Talk about guilt, "I bought you this...but think about if we have enough for Christmas."

Zelda and Metroid, Mario, especially Mario Kart, maybe other exclusives...that is all I care about. Metroid Prime looked amazing. Atmosphere was great. Twighlight Princess, Skyward Sword, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Punch Out. I don't get those anywhere else.

Nintendo only thinks of innovation and improving THEIR exclusives. All others have are multi plats you can get on other systems. Halo stands out, with Gears of War. I thought GoF is Microsoft and PC only, probably wrong. Nintendo competes with itself and others compete for "Who can make version 20 of multi plats look better.". Commercial with a guy raving about stabbing a guy shiny water was great. Backgrounds, more going on, more realism. Great, but for a lot of gamers that lacks what Nintendo exclusives offer.

Like Gahars said, both sides make a mess. I do wish Nintendo would have Wii U more on par this generation only i terms of being able to run BF4 and others at least in the area, vicinity of other next gen systems. Get exclusives and no massive difference? Innovation is good but exclusives may not save Wii U.

This is crap.
I know for a fact that Sony does not do "version 20 of multi plats look better". In case you don't know, Sony also has amazing first party support. But I guess that's easily ignored on a forum like this.

Cite some....

Third party blows Nintendo away, admittedly. You think anything first party outside of Halo has recognition and sales history of Zelda/Mario games, Metroid? Lets see it.

Is english your first language? Seriously.

And for Sony first party titles, or maybe you're thinking of exclusives:

Uncharted
Last of Us
Ratchet and Clank
Journey
God Of War
Killzone
LittleBigPlanet
anything by Team Ico
Gran Turismo
Sly Cooper
Infamous

All by Sony's first and second party studios.

Nintendo has more than just Zelda, Mario and Metroid. Last I checked pokemon still sells like hot cakes, there's also Fire Emblem, Pikmin and others.
Also, PCs can play wii/gc and ps2 games :P

Most PC's struggle to run PS2 games at fullspeed or correctly, and even then, some games wil not work at full speed on high end setups.
I have a i5 [email protected] driving my main computer and it cannot play Crash: The Wrath of Cortex at more than ~2/3 overall speed (goes between 30 and 50 fps out of 60)

now for GameCube and Wii emulation, more computers can run games at full speed but still not all games run right or at all.
most computers cannot run Super Mario Galaxy 2 with LLE in 1080p at 60fps (100% speed for NTSC version)
excite truck's main menu is messed up and is eiher painfully slow or normal with really fast background video depending on settings.
-----------------------------------------------
just had to throw that out there as a lot of people say you can emulate PS2 and Wii/GC games but never state the fine print, which is that some games will not run right and most computers struggle to maintain 50 (PAL) or 60 (NTSC) fps (100% fullspeed) on some games.

Really? I don't dismiss the failures that easily. Shoddy hardware design.

Had two 360s and a bunch of friends. It took us hours and trying several different games before we could find one we could play online. Kept needing patches and they kept getting stuck and what not. We had 2 consoles in the same room. All involved had gone through a few 360s that had to be replaced.

One time me and a friend toweled a 360. It only worked for about an hour and we just wanted to do some local multiplayer but 80% of the time was lost to having to download game patches.

Oh I am always available and willing to teach the console makers some materials science and general heat engineering and their failures, while to be expected, are not so easily forgiven.

"we could play online" would be the key modifier there, not general play.

"toweled a 360"
Though it might get it running it is hardly a fix.

Any of those top selling franchises in history? Making fun of language. What if English is my second language? This is one example of a list: http://www.fullpunch.com/random/10-best-selling-video-game-franchises-of-all-time.html/

No offense guild, but if you want to be taken seriously, for anything, maybe you should stop being a dick and saying dumb terms like "nintendrones". You belong more with the Kotaku crowd.

And if I do recall, you were one of the doomsayers for the 3DS:

"why would anybody buy the 3DS when the Vita is around the corner with superior hardware! Nintendo is doomed same with the 3DS!" Seriously, can you like... iono, just shut up? You're about as annoying as that dummy kirito-kun.

You think I really want to be taken seriously on this forum?

Really?

You should put something in your sig saying you don't.

I don't think I care that much.

Terrible console? Are you sure you are not talking about the ones that constantly fail and have to be replaced and force you to download massive patches before allowing you to play a game?
We can only hope ps4 and Xbox one are not as terrible as their last gen versions.

I'd rather have a big patch that fixes things than no patch on something that stays broken.

Last of Us sold for 3.4 million, Legend of Zelda 3DS sold for 2.95 million. Legend of Zelda 3DS is a success, so I don't see how you can labeled Sony or Microsoft as someone who doesn't make exclusive or inferior to Nintendo.

Best selling video game is actually Wii Sports, and that is because it is bundled in every Wii sold.

What he said was franchise not single game, also it was not the pack in for "every Wii sold" in Japan at launch they didn't have any pack in games... Those poor bastards... lol

Edit: Just to add a bit to that... VGA charts (I know lol) lists the game Wii Sports as selling 81.46 million copies. The Wii has sold something like 100 million units (too lazy to look up the current numbers.) but just going by that raw data alone means that at least 18.54 million Wii's were sold sans Wii Sports. (yes I am sure the numbers are actually different than those since some people probably did actually buy the game since it wasn't included in the system.)

You're conveniently forgetting about the part where Nintendo has been in the video game industry since Generation 2 (in the west since Generation 3) while Sony entered the market during Generation 5 - their long-term franchises obviously have higher sales because they've been on the market for at least 10 years longer.

Not only that, Sony's focus was never first-party development - they focus on manufacturing hardware relevant to third-parties while Nintendo creates "systems that play their games, not games that play on their systems" which is painfuly apparent in the case of the Wii, the DS and the Wii U.
