Hacking Confused about the Ape Escape Exploit

I'm on 3.50, I saw the exploit works for it. I'm just trying to do this to play some psp games I have dumped on my laptop.
Can someone guide me to the right area? I've looked at this guide http://hackinformer.com/2015/04/19/ape-escape-exploit-revealed-for-psvita-fw-3-363-50/

But then what do I do once I do that and its on the custom fw?
Does this mean I have to do that exploit everytime I shut down my console/reboot it?
