So I come to this forum every 3 month or so, and I came and I saw, and LOOK! The PS3 has modchips now! And I saw, and LOOK! There's even some on DealExtreme!

I realize, there are prob lots of topics like this, I just wanted to get an updated perspective, because with all the clones the prices are sure to come down.

What's the best and cheapest modchip that is upgradeable so that I won't have to buy another if they release new firmware for it?

Thanks alot!

First, they're not actually modchips, they're usb dongles. Second, the cheapest solution would to use a device that you already have that has usb connections (not a flash drive) and has PSGroove ported to it. Check here for the list: http://gbatemp.net/t252522-definitive-guid...alling-psgroove
I've heard about that, but I don't have any of those things. So I'd rather just buy a USB dongle. I see some on dealextreme for under $20.

avoid ps3break (psbreak, ect...) at all costs
you will most likely get a non updateable clone which have flooded many sites like dx
