Hardware Backup of external Harddrive?

Can I insert my HDD which is used for the Wii U and have some games on it into my PC to create a Backup just in case? Or will it be useless and everything get corrupted when I insert it into my PC?

I'm pretty sure your PC will ask you to format it because it won't recognize the HDD's format. Don't format it or else everything will be lost.

I don't know if there's a way to backup your HDD's files, afaik until now there is no way.

could be possible to do a full image of the usb hdd outside of windows using ghost or true image

windows cannot read a wii u formatted hdd so it will ask to format which is DANGEROUS
