I dumped my DSP firmware when i did the installation here https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax
Many ogg files DO work, some do not.

Frankly I have no compatibility issues, all the themes I've created work perfectly on my 3DS. I just down themes from the following creators, @FlameSpeedster , @piplupwater, @PedroKeitawa , @miraclaime , and @MartyDreamy. All the themes I've downloaded from these creators never presented any problems.

open chmm and find them in your list of themes and then press Y for preview

I downloaded Chmm2 through the Homebrew Browser. The folders and region files I downloaded from the official website.

i reformatted it already and re-downloaded the themes too

the problem is chmm crashes and I have to restart it or the 3ds

I have a better answer, get a machine gun and threaten Chmm2, I guarantee the problems will end.
It's a shame the app has been discontinuing.
