Hacking 3DS XL Dev Unit , about $584 starting bid on eBay

Check this link on eBay, someone want to sell a 3DS XL dev unit.

At reading details it seems to be good status, just few scratch and the 3D mode switch is damaged but still easy to use.

It's a Japanese firmware but dev menu seems to be in english.

It only plays DS games, not 3DS games.

If you read on 3dsbrew informations about 3DS dev unit, you'll know that they can't read commercial game, it's for development purpose only. You need to have a SDK and flash cart for dev etc...
But it is not true for DS mode apparently.

It's only a valuable collectors item. It will have the same functions as typical Panda unit, which WON'T LEAD TO HACKING 3DS, DON'T BOTHER ASKING.

I can think of a lot of things to do with $600 bucks and playing old ds games on a dev unit isn't one of them

Well, the development unit isn't really useful without the SDK.

I do think it's funny that more development units are starting to appear. I think that it looks like a retail unit is a bigger indication that it was stolen. You would expect a dev 3DS XL unit to have a different colour scheme, like with the original 3DS. You would only find dev units with the same colour scheme at gaming events. So the unit must of been stolen from a gaming event.

It doesn't play retail 3DS games...at least not without resigning them.
