hey guys, been trying to break in my 3dsXL today with some mario kart.

everything is working fine although the circle pad isn't "as smooth as butter" as i've read on some forums its meant to be.

now its not terrible by any means but i do get a scratchy sound in the odd direction and can feel a tiny bit of friction at times. can someone confirm if this is common and present in others systems or not?

I've noticed this too about the 3dsxl circle pad. I just live with it although I wonder if applying some superglue to the pad to reduce slippage might alleviate the problem (because you wouldn't have to push down as hard to avoid slipping your thumb off it). Somebody recommended that in another thread.

I have some of the other two models and they don't exhibit this issue.

Can't say that I've noticed any sounds from my circle pad.

Are you sure it's not your thumb making the noises?

i smacked mario kart on gateway and gave the console to my little sister to play.

she played it for about 8 hours total today.

circle pad feels MUCH better now.

@HiradeGirl the L button barely worked at all in the dsi i previously had

my dad bought me a dsi identical to that one

That could be an easy fix without even opening it with some ipa maybe unless the entire button broke

That´s why I never got any handheld before the Switch.
