Shit

I have a Emunand Backup from 2 days ago and all contents in the SD Card...
Try booting EmuNAND9 and format the SD card with an EmuNAND. Then restore your backup to the EmuNAND. By the way, what is your SysNAND version?

Man, the SD Formatter used exFAT, not FAT32. Maybe is this. I'll try to format to FAT32, paste my backup and test again. If this dont work, i'll follow your sugestion.

Check this: https://3ds.guide/region-changing
I don't know if you need to change region. It might allow you to select the languages anyway and Luma3ds has region-free game patches. Why are you going to buy a Japanese console anyway?

The progress bar shows a little progres (5-10%) and then the error message: "An error has occurred. Unable to update. The system will now be restarted" pops up on the bottom screen. Clicking OK restarts to system menu.

I tried hotspotting like you suggestion, same error. I even tried formatting memory. Didn't help.
I'm on a 500/100 Mbit internet line, so it should in theory be able to grab the update pretty quickly. But I'll try leaving it in sleep mode anyway.
I'm pretty sure the DS already has the latest firmware downloaded in there somewhere anyway because I disabled the DNS settings when tubehax went down. and it has been giving the update prompt every time it's started for the first time that day (I think).

Time will show. Open for more suggestions if anyone have any :)

And again, thanks Quantumcat :)
Letting it stay on system menu over night in sleep mode apparently worked. Update installed without problems the next morning :)

New questions:
1. Am I right in assuming that if I just make a regular copy-paste of all the content on my SD that everything will be copied the way it should, and I won't loose any emunand or other settings that have been hidden in any way (I've followed 3ds.guide). I lost my last emuNAND because I didn't realize it made it's own partition on the SD, so would like to avoid anything like that happening again :)

2. Does there exist a cleanup guide?

1. If you followed 3ds.guide, you will not have an emuNAND so yep you can just copy and paste (but make sure the new SD card is formatted in FAT32).
2. There's an image at the end of the guide telling you what files are required.

I have an untouched 11.2 sysnand and I use 11.3 in emunand with a9lh+luma
While installing a9lh I accidentally deleted my 11.2 nand backup and the otp.bin
Since I haven't done anything to my sysnand is it possible to make a 11.2 nand backup then downgrade to 2.1.0 while keeping a9lh get my otp.bin and then restore my 11.2 sysnand all while keeping a9lh and then resume using my emunand? I was thinking about using safea9lhinstaller to uninstall a9lh and start the process over but I noticed there is a luma folder in the rw folder of the sysnand and I didn't know if it would brick it.

You don't need the otp.bin, it isn't useful for anything. You'd have to uninstall a9lh to be able to get the otp again. Just make a new backup of your 11.2 sysNAND and keep it safe somewhere. Your emuNAND backup is more important anyway, since it ties to your data.
