I got a friend's wiikey that's not original and can't be upgraded and certain games like SMG are giving #001 errors. Is there a specific IOS from cioscorp which I can install that fixes it?

Of course, another alternative will be to use backup loaders like Neogamma/softchip/Gecko OS 1.9.1? Will this version Unoffical Gecko OS 1.07b with new 002fix, some game fixes and loading Ocarina from sd&usb also work?

For softmods 001 is fixed in the cIOS, so you would need a cIOS + a backup loader. BTW Gecko OS is not a backup loader.

You have the following options:
1. Install FULL cioscorp(not recommend)
2. Get a cIOS + NeoGamma or SoftChip
3. Get me to mod Gecko OS1.07b further to patch 001(+ Install trucha patched IOS36)
4. Patch 001 in the .isos before burning with the Generic Wii Patcher(for IOS Reloading games, patch 001 in ALL .dols)
(modchip + patching + disc channel == you need trucha in ALL IOS)

Solution 2+3 will not work on the IOS Reloading games. (But in some cases you can use the alternative .dol loading instead)

Thanks for the suggestions. But for me :

1. Is out because it's already hard modded. Don't want to screw up disc channel loading further
2. Using cIOS249rev10 + Neogamma R6. So far so good. All 001 games load properly now.
3. IMO, same as 2 as game still runs through a loader

4. This is troublesome because he uses pressed silver discs.

Anyway, TBR is the greatest thing since sliced bread as its practically needed for almost every wanin app.

The one thing I don't quite understand is why ATD still has ES_Identify errors though it's supposed to be patched for IOS36.

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
