Hey guys, I'm writing to you because I need help with my problem, I hope someone might know what my problem is.

I have a DS lite i bought 1 year and 4 months ago, I'm not a hardcore player and i take care of it, i don't let it fall and always have it in a ds case.

A few months ago, I traveled to spain and kept it in its case, in my hand bag. My bf says the scanners might have damaged it. He also has the theory that soft resetting might have dameged it too or that I wait for the battery to get low and then recharge my ds instead of playing when it's charging.

Also: when I first discovered the problem I hadn't been using it for some months, idk if that affects it in some way. He opened it and removed the battery to see if something was wrong, but he didn't find anything unusual, after he put it back, he recharged it and we could make the ds work for a while, but didn't play again. Now I came back in another flight and it's again broke (it was also in my bag this last time).

Thanks in advance.

Does the power light come on at all?
If it does, does it stay constantly lit, or does it turn off after a second?
Do the screens ever turn on?

^^what this guy said. It's possible a fuse had blown. I would also try giving the DS a little shake to see if you can hear any rattling around as an inductor could have come off from the motherboard while traveling.

I had a problem kind of like this after going to the states with my Micro. Turned out it was a problem with the power charger and the actual charger had internally blown up. To play it safe I got a battery replacement and it'd been fine!

Otherwise yeah, go to Nintendo directly and keep asking :)

Nope, nothing at all. No power light, and the screen never turns on.

The X-Ray scanners at airports won't hurt your DS or your laptop. If they did, mine would be damaged and they're not. And I've traveled quite a bit with them, so you can rule that out.

A fuse replacement for $2 dollars link The repair requires soldering, a tri-wing screw-driver, and very calm hands

Put it on charge, and tell us if the charging LED is blinking.

If you're not very experienced at soldering, a less safe(for the DS) but easier option would be to buy a conductive pen and bridge the fuses with it.
It's the same principal as putting blobs of solder onto the fuses.

Hello, I'm SabineM.Dnser bf, and I managed to get the DS working the first time this happaned about 3 months ago. The orange light blinks for 1 second, the same way it does when the battery is fully charged, but when you hit the power switch, nothing happens. I took the batery out and placed it in my DS Lite, plugged it in and recharged the battery. When I put it back in her DS, it powered on perfectly.

It's been without use since then, and I guess the battery has drained it self, that's why it won't power on. The problem is that it doesn't recharge. Is that a fuse problem?

The carging led only turned on for a sec, and then turned off.

Oh, I see it then.
That means that the connection between the battery and the DS isn't in good condition. What you should do is try the "paper trick" to make the connection better.

I have to agree with Joey, sounds more like the fuses than a battery issue.
Nonetheless, you should take a look at that too just to remove another variable.
