Some people would like to play downloaded Games on their PSP's, but don't want to go through all the risks of bricking their PSP while soft/hardmodding it.
In this Tutorial, I'll show you how to play Games and Homebrew on your PSP without hacking it.
Rydian, for telling me what I should add.
s4mid4re, for telling me about iso2boot, a program that converts CSO into EBOOT.pbp's without having to convert them into ISOs first.
Frankenstein Tank, for telling me that the EBOOT.pbp has to be 4 MB or lower in order for it to be signed, and other suggestions.
And everyone who is encouraging and thanking me! Thanks for all of your support!

BUT: The file has to be an ISO file, and 720 MB or lower, I do not know what will happen if you use an ISO that is over 720 MB, so it works best on PSP Minis...
1.) Download "Fake NP":
2.) Extract the "Fake NP" inside of the .ZIP file to your desktop. DO NOT rename any of the files or folders.
3.) Take your downloaded ISO file and move/copy it to the Fake NP folder. Rename that file to "np.iso" or just "np".
The files you should now have in your Fake NP folder are the following (WITHOUT THE "NP.ISO FILE):
4.) Open the program "UMDGen", click on open, and navigate to the "Fake NP" folder on your Desktop. Double click on the "np.iso". It will open up in UMDGen and you will see something similar to the following:
5.) (Still in UMDGen)
a. Open the "PSP_Game" folder.
b.Hold down the "Ctrl" button and click on "PIC1" and "PIC2".
c. Right Click and click on "Extract Selected" and extract to the Fake NP folder on your desktop.
d. Open the "SYSDIR" folder and click on "EBOOT.BIN".
e. Right Click and click on "Extract Selected" and extract to the Fake NP folder on your desktop.
6.)Your folder should now look like this after following step 5.):
7.)If your Fake NP folder looks like the picture in step 6.), now double click on
fake_np.exe.
You will then get a window that looks like this:
Wait until the program completes, you will know so by it closing itself.
When it is done, you will now have a file called "EBOOT.pbp".
8.) You now have the signed game that you want to put on your PSP.
a. To do so, Plug in your PSP into your computer and select, from Settings, USB Mode.
b. Navigate to your PSP's memory, the Memory Card, and go to /PSP/GAME/.
c. Create a new folder, and name it as the name of your game. For example, I used Angry Birds, so I named the folder "Angry Birds".
Unplug your PSP, go to Games, and select your Game from the Memory Card. Enjoy Your newly installed Game! ![]()
1.) Download PSCrypter Signed 2.0:
2.) After downloading the compressed file, extract the
"PSCRYPTER_v2.0_signed" folder to the /PSP/Game/ Folder of your PSP.
3.) Place the EBOOT.pbp file you want to sign in the "Sign" folder.
4.) Disconnect your PSP from your computer, and on your PSP, go to
Games, then open the Memory Card.
Load "PSPCRYPTER", and wait until it goes back to the XMB Menu.
5.) Plug your PSP back into your computer, open up
/PSP/Game/PSCRYPTER_v2.0_signed/sign.
You will see your EBOOT.pbp file as EBOOT_Signed.pbp, then rename it to "EBOOT.pbp".
You can also use "Claw Explorer" to create the folder and move the file, found in discussion thread or in "Homebrew Store", which you can download directly from your PSP Internet Broswer's URL: "http://bit.ly/hbstore".
6.) Create a new folder in the "Game" folder, accordingly to the Game that you
have signed. For example, I signed "Super Mario War", and then I created a folder named "Super Mario War".
Enjoy your newly signed PSP homebrew app/game!
NOTE: For some weird reason, my downloaded and signed "Super Mario War" will not boot because it is corrupted. Please report if you have the same problem. I do believe only many, but not all, homebrew can be signed. Thanks.
If you game's in a CSO or another compressed format, don't worry, there's a way to install them.
1.) Download and install YACC, also known as Yet Another CSO Compressor
2.) After installing YACC, open it up.
After it opens up, click on the "Decompression" tab.
3.) In the Decompression tab, you will see something that says "CSO, DAX, JSO file to uncompress". Below that you will see two bars. Click the button on the left of the top bar to select your CSO file.
4.) After you select you CSO file, your YACC windows should look similar to this:
Hit the button, and wait patiently for it to complete.
You will know when it will complete by YACC having a Progress Bar above of the buttons. When it is complete, you may know follow the steps of "Installing ISOs".
