If You don't have internet connection defined under wii network menu then some homebrew might crash.
Confirmed examples:
IOS236 installer http://gwht.wikidot.com/forum/t-260462/ios236 (Dr Clipper 4 Sep 2010, 03:53 CET)

Thank you for giving this advice o_o

I managed to install FileTrip Download Link priiloader 0.5 3 times perfectly (with a wifi internet connection set in internet settings). I donīt have a boot2 bootmii Wii, so... If I werenīt added a internet config... it could have black bricked my wii...

DONīT INSTALL THIS ON WIIīS WHICH DONīT HAVE A INTERNET CONNECTION SET/WORKING IN INTERNET SETTINGS

I installed my FileTrip Download Link Priiloader 0.5 (rev99) without a problem, I only had BootMii as IOS. It works perfectly for me.

It seems any wii without a proper wireless connection set .

Yes, almost sure HBC needs to be fixed first.
