UPDATE October 19, 2010: See the Wiki about this topic also. ~Vulpes Abnocto

Well, for those of you who like to use one firmware for everything, I thought I would come up with this list. Here, I will list the homebrew that currently works with Sakura and the homebrew that doesn't. Feel free to give me a suggestion and I will test it out.

It's pretty straightforward - if the homebrew works fully, I'll list it in the Works 100% list. If it doesn't work, I'll list it in the Doesn't Work section. If it partially works, I'll list it in a Partially Works section that I will make when needed.

With the list becoming stickied, it means more people will start to look at it. That means more submissions, and more time needed to test all of them. I might need official assistant testers. If you're interested in helping out, let me know. **Requirement of at least 100 posts required** This is just so I know that you're not going to just randomly say if something works or not without testing. Someone who's been around for 100 posts is more likely to help contribute to GBAtemp than destroy it.

Something you should know....
The newest version of DsKiosk (offsite download here) is compatible with Sakura 1.40. All homebrew I've tested so far works with it, so you can just load all your homebrew into DsKiosk and play it all from there.

Check it out!
The M3 Sakura Homebrew Compatibility List now has a Wiki page. Thanks to Densetsu3000 for starting it off! :yayds:

Currently Testing
Progress: Nothing to test.

Testing Information
-QuakeDS requires the PAK0.PAK file from the shareware version or the PAK0.PAK file and PAK1.PAK files from the retail version of Quake (placed in a ID1 folder at the root of your card) to work.
-In order for DScent to work, you must have the DESCENT.HOG and DESCENT.PIG files from a retail copy of Descent. They must be updated to version 1.4a and must be placed in a "dscent" folder along with files included in the DScent zip file.

Whats the prob of DSorganize?

DSOrganize boots into two white screens. Nothing can be done at that point. However, It could just be my version I'm using.

@illithid: Tested Visual Novel DS 1.4.2 and it works perfectly. Adding it to the list now. yaynds.gif

Working on 1.12+1:
Lameboy
DS Master Plus
SNEmulDS

Not working on 1.12+1:
lmp-ng (but works perfectly in 1.34)

Thanks again Skyline969 grog.gif

*EDIT*
There's a trick to getting lmp-ng to work in Sakura, but the fact that you even have to do it puts it in the "not working" category. I guess you could put it in the "partially works" category that you were thinking about creating.

As far as I remember, DSOrganise issue is also connected with Moonshell 2 (they're almost identical with Sakura)
DSOrganise doesn't work in Moonshell2 either.

So far, so good everyone. I'm going to take your word for it if you have a high post count or if you have contributed to GBAtemp in a significant way. Those of you with a lower post count, I'm going to test the homebrew you suggest before I add it to the list. It's nothing personal; It's just to ensure that people don't list bogus homebrew and mess up the list.

dslibris works partially on Sakura. You can't use the white text on black background function fully.

Adding the list of working Homebrew:
ProteinDS ver.1/22/2009
DronS 1.4

Semi-working (Wouldn't recommend):
Innocence 1.00 (Is really buggy, SELECT button killed the app - that is, DS shut down immediately [DS PHAT] )

Not Working:
GuitarSound 1.5 (unfortunately, it's laggy even in TouchPod)
Renegade (A promising FPS-demo)
Fandian_r307 (A very promising Rpg-game)

Skyline969, if you're planning to test homebrew, might I suggest checking out these lists since these are the titles that almost everyone uses or cares about:

Homebrew Essentials
Top 30 DS Homebrew of All Time

Since Moonshell 1.71 and Morning Timer both come bundled with Sakura, those naturally work 100%.

Also working perfectly on Sakura 1.12+1:
ComicBookDS (I distinctly remember using it to read all of the Heroes comics right before Sakura 1.34 came out)
Laser Hockey DS

*EDIT*
I believe that BeUp stopped working a long time ago on all flashcarts, but don't quote me on that.

*EDIT*
GBA ExpLoader 0.57 also works smile.gif

You're right, Densetsu. BeUp doesn't work on any flash card as it refuses to connect. Therefore, I'm not even gonna add it to the list. I'll go through those two lists and test them all tonight.

EDIT: Downloaded all of the homebrew from both lists that I believed to be worth trying. I'll test them all tonight and post my results!

EDIT: Phew... done!

Pretty nice list you've got going there!

I just wanted to let you know that the NDS version of AngunaDS doesn't work for me in v1.34, but the GBA version does. You might want to try the GBA one in 1.12 if you're so inclined. No pressure though, you've already done a lot of work on this list smile.gif

*EDIT*
Just wanted to clarify that Anguna.gba works, but NOT Anguna.ds.gba.

I would, but I don't have a GBA expansion pack. Does that matter?

Oh yeah, I forgot you didn't have one...I'll put 1.12 on my card and test it out for you then. I'll be back with the results shortly.

*EDIT*
Yep, Anguna.gba is working wink.gif
