    you can wait for someone else to update their build then. or wait for the gpu update if your gpu is decent. we aren't going to hold off on fixing issues in multiplayer though.

    there are some fallbacks to the other pipelines if something goes wrong. all the old code is still there in case your graphics card is pure garbage and its faster for you to use the cpu rendering steps. also this chart could be wrong. i'm trying to get someone to fact check me but no one is...

    kinda. heres a graph of whats citra uses the gpu for now: it does a gl fragment shader and per sample ops on the gpu in addition to storing textures on the gpu.

    The people who wrote the original hardware renderer aren't currently contributing. So we don't have many experienced opengl devs right now. I'm not going to let it rot just because we don't have anyone that is experienced enough... Not sure if that or actually submitting the pr will take more...

    its possible you downloaded the one version that had the multiplayer tab, but was missing the actual multiplayer backend code. we are in the process of merging multiplayer into nightly. when thats done the option won't ever disappear again :P
