    We don't have to. I had to use very thin double sided tape in order it to fit without leaving a bump on the back cover.

    Faulty sd card reader may prevent switch from booting, try taking card reader module out and it should boot.

    Shorted 9&10 pins shouldn't drain battery. Did it happen only once? It is possible that game you were playing didn't allow switch to sleep, there were problems with few games in the past, I think SMO and Rocket League were one of them.

    Just update to 5.1 and have Trinket m0 internally installed, with this you can coldboot to CFW, no more jigs and manually pushing payloads. Imo it's the best method, software coldboot exploit will never be possible and the next best thing, the untethered warmoot is not released.
