Hacking Have anyone tested out virtual machines inside of PS4 Linux?

I also assume the PS4 CPU won't have virtulization extensions (like I mentioned in my first post) but even with an old CPU (like one from 2005, before virtulization got popular, that lacks those extensions) you can still run a VM and achieve somewhat decent perfomance (obviously not good enough...

Hacking Have anyone tested out virtual machines inside of PS4 Linux?

Sure, I know all of that. I was just asking if anyone bothered to try it out, don't see why it shouldn't work and it shouldn't be too much effort to try if you have a working setup, right? Also, "essentially a virtual machine"? To my understanding the current way of running PS4 Linux is native...

Hacking Have anyone tested out virtual machines inside of PS4 Linux?

Would be interesting to see how well these perform in case the PS4 CPU supports the necessary virtualization extensions (I wouldn't be surprised if Sony made sure they're disabled). Maybe we can run Windows and in it: more games? Even without the extensions, perhaps we'll get somewhat decent...

Hacking Do you think the xmas explot for 4.05 is real

Haha alright, that makes sense. The way I saw it was that it was the same exploit and the exploit is real but I don't think it will be released around Christmas.

Hacking What bundles come with ps4 slim below 4.5

I guess you mean 4.05? 4.5 (which is effectively another way of saying 4.50) does not exist yet, the highest firmware is 4.07. And it shouldn't need to be lower than 4.05 anyway, 4.05 is said to be exploitable. So it would need to be lower than 4.06; and that should be any new PS4, as 4.06 is...

Hacking Do you think the xmas explot for 4.05 is real

Of course something will come out of it eventually, but worst case scenario it will be like the 3DS where the only publicly available hack for about 2 years time was the pay-to-hack Gateway 3DS... (Okay, Ninjhax came out one year after Gateway but it was very limited at first and the first free...

Hacking How do I enable PS4 remote play on the pro with Vita(3.70 pro and 3.60 vita)?

Yes, I really hope there will be a method to do this without an internet connection (would probably require HEN/CFW and patches/plugins for both systems), as Remote Play is a pretty big feature that would be terribly sad to be sacrificed for the sake of modding. If you set it up earlier, there's...

Hacking How do I enable PS4 remote play on the pro with Vita(3.70 pro and 3.60 vita)?

6 minutes? From what I can see the first post is from yesterday.

Hacking any way to install media player offline from usb or private server?

What about playing videos from a thumbdrive, though?

Hacking POLL: What do you want from PS4 hacking?

The problem with that is that typically the CFW requires the console to be on a lower base firmware than the OFW, and the console might have some type of security outside of the NAND/NOR, or wherever on the motherboard the system software is stored, such as the fuses in the Xbox 360 CPU - that...

Hacking PlaysStation 4 Pro 3.70 Zero Day Exploit

No idea, I keep my console offline. Hopefully it will ignore those when installing from a USB thumb drive.

Hacking PlaysStation 4 Pro 3.70 Zero Day Exploit

Should be as easy as downloading the update file, putting it on an USB thumb drive, entering recovery mode and installing it, just like on a PS3. To my knowledge, there is no 3.70 update file available though, it should only be available as pre-installed on PS4 Pro's.

    Hacking PS4 SAMU Decrypted?

I would assume so, I'm not sure though.

    Hacking PS4 SAMU Decrypted?

To quote https://cturt.github.io/ps4-2.html - "Furthermore, encryption on the PS4 is handled by a separate processor, called SAMU, which is very locked down. Even with a kernel exploit, the SAMU processor is one of the few areas which we don't have complete control over. Although we can interact...

Hacking POLL: What do you want from PS4 hacking?

Well, VHBL access is good for all things PSP on Vita, but it doesn't do a whole lot for the native Vita environment. I've read Yifan Lu's blog and he says that the kernel exploit used for HENKaku (which was the first native Vita kernel exploit ever to be found for the Vita) was found in late...

Hacking POLL: What do you want from PS4 hacking?

I thought all games worked on Remote Play on PS4? Or are you talking about PS3?

Hacking POLL: What do you want from PS4 hacking?

Oh yeah, there's another thing I would really love for a hacked console, and that's to be able to set up Remote Play with a Vita without the requirement of being logged in to PSN during the pairing process. I have my 1.76 PS4 and 3.18 Vita paired and they can remote play just fine without...

Hacking Does 1.76 come with Playstation 4 20th Anniversary Edition?

1.76 still have the benefit of having a public kernel exploit today, nothing is released for 4.01 yet even if we most likely will get something soon. Also, I couldn't find the exact release date for the 20th anniversary version, but my findings point to somewhere between late 2014/early 2015

Hacking Does 1.76 come with Playstation 4 20th Anniversary Edition?

Unfortunately it's not that simple, the 20th anniversary version came out a couple of months after 2.00 (which should be the next release after 1.76) was released, but at the same time we have the PS4 Pro coming with the 3.70 firmware even though 4.00 came out over 2 months ago.
