    Exactly 4 years later on a leap day from your edit, I want to say thank you! I was running into the same issue trying to convert a sensor bar to usb but the cables seemed really weird and would not conduct. A quick use of a lighter worked great to burn off the coating.

    My girlfriend was really looking forward to the Toy Day event but I couldn't get it working on my hacked switch :( Tried doing the patched BCAT too but it didn't work. Does the latest 1.7.0 update follow the same practices? Otherwise I probably won't even bother. Thanks

    I ended up updating my switch firmware + updating to the latest version of atmosphere and Hekate. That fixed it for me.

    Hey all, I'm following this guide: http://switchguide.xyz/ After launching atmoshphere from hekate, it starts loading the kips then atmosphere boots. After that I get an error message "An error has occurred." Does anyone here have any idea why this might happen?

    Having the ! in front of the & will work too. ! stands for not in Computer Science and many programming languages, so !& would mean not AND (which is what NAND stands for.)

    You can wait until Gateway has support for other firmwares (I don't think they guaruanteed anything will be working except 9.0-9.2, which a new 3DS would not have I believe) or get a Sky3DS now. It's up to you if you think waiting will be worth it.

    I'm thinking of getting a new 3DS because of this now, correct me if I'm wrong but at this point emuNAND isn't even needed because we can install updates via .cia if we need to play online. But if a newer encryption is released for later games then it will be needed.

    Yeah, but it seems like the logic of a 5 year old. I doubt anyone is going to go, "Darn, I used up my ten games, better spend $120 more on another flashcart!" but they will say "$120 for 10 games? Screw that, I'll wait for something else that doesn't have a limit."
