    Hacking GBA Cart Adapter

GBA cartridges aren't serial, and GBA dumpers on the market today are USB. If there is a serial GBA cartridge dumper out there, by all means - use that. I even mention this in the post.

    Hacking GBA Cart Adapter

The theory is sound, it would just need some light electronics, hardware/PCB manufacture, and software engineering. Hardware needs: - SPI USB 1.0/2.0 FS/HS host controller interface IC. - Any USB GBA cartridge dumper. - A new homebrew SLOT-1 board, with SPI chip select gated properly with...

Hacking qlutoo got a talk at 34c3's console hacking/security section!

which has nothing to do with 34c3. I'm excited to see what comes of this talk, and the aftermath. Seems pretty spicy!

Homebrew [Tutorial] Setting up Pegaswitch and Preparing for Homebrew

You forgot to add a critical point - you must disconnect from the internet, or add the update block DNS, before performing the update from the cartridge. People will update beyond homebrew to the latest system version, otherwise. I see it's been edited in, thanks! :D

    Hacking DSTWO Linux Beta1.0 release

Unfortunately the DS doesn't have a good timebase separate from the CPU clock itself (RTC doesn't really count, it's not quite accurate enough for cycle counting) so, most games, even emulators and homebrew, on the XCM HGL will have the unfortunate side effect of running at a faster speed but...

    Microsoft XBOX Hacking Guide

Nice guide, thank you. I especially like the TSOP instructions. You must've gone through hell on old xbins and xbox-scene sites/archives for all this information.

Homebrew 3DSXL with RxTools bricked thanks to new update. Any way to switch to Lumas3DS?

To answer your question about the Luma config menu: You hold select immediately after pressing A on the Homebrew Launcher, or whatever you use to load Luma. You keep holding select while Luma is booting, until the boot menu shows up. If it doesn't show up and just goes to homemenu, then it...

Homebrew 3DSXL with RxTools bricked thanks to new update. Any way to switch to Lumas3DS?

At least you're on 9.2 and using Luma. You're at a perfect spot to switch to arm9loaderhax, or wait for sighax, once it becomes available. Sighax will be a lot easier to install, since it does not require a temporary downgrade to 2.x to grab the OTP. You're at a stable point to wait, anyway...

Hardware Use the accessory port with panasonic camera cables? Henkaku?

That is genuinely interesting. Sounds like a syscon problem? Or some low-level things failing, since holding the power button for long enough is supposed to be an unconditional hard reset.

Hardware Use the accessory port with panasonic camera cables? Henkaku?

The plug does look similar, but I would highly recommend against plugging it into anything powered. What would be interesting, is to get one of those wires, and a USB gender changer, assuming the pins match.

Hardware Use the accessory port with panasonic camera cables? Henkaku?

The accessory port is documented here: https://wiki.henkaku.xyz/vita/EHCI It's known as EHCI, and is suspected to be a USB 2.0 host port. Connecting it through a cable to another host may damage the system. Nothing is known to communicate to this port normally, it may require some device poking...

Homebrew [Release] Default "homebrew" custom logo.bin

What do you use to modify the clan/clyt? I'm fine with pulling apart the logo.bin and modifying the layout and animation files in hex, but is it well-documented? Or do you use an application to edit/compile to it?

Hacking Would you ever recommend Gateway's Time Machine a9lh install?

For that benefit, Sky3DS is a better all-around option, for now. There is community work on reverse-engineering the workings of the Gateway3DS card. Currently, with shinyquagsire's release, you can address the microSD in the Gateway microSD card as a block device. It seems to appear on the CARD...

    Homebrew The bootroms

The "Dev bootrom" is identical to the master, production, retail bootrom. In fact, the only place the bootrom itself would vary, is in an engineering sample pre-release - likely one with a socketed SoC, too. The only thing that differs, is the contents of the OTP area, and what bootrom does...

    Homebrew The bootroms

Something like that. We need to stop the ARM9 CPU within 2-300 instructions, which is somewhere in the ballpark of 6-1200 clocks at 134MHz. (Going by the average ARM9 cycles-per-instruction count.) A back-of-the-napkin calculation says that, optimistically, we have almost 9 microseconds, or...
