Sony confirms they're working on a new console, patent potentially hints at backwards compatibility

We already knew that they have been rolling out PS5 devkits for a while now. If I recall that's what the Cyberpunk demo at E3 was reportedly running on.

Arkane's Dishonored series will be going on a hiatus as dev looks to focus on multiplayer games

I did finish both Dishonored and enjoyed them, but it frankly didn't surprise me when I heard that the 2nd one made a flop. In my opinion, both games have enormous potential, but they suffer a lot from "incoherent game design". (Relatively short article on that subject if you're interested, I...

Game chatting app Discord planning to open their own game storefront

It's not exactly the same situation though. There used to be one standard, which was Steam. It held while it was peaking because most devs and publishers had no choice but to follow the playerbase and profited from the exposure, but they've always wanted to break away from it. The biggest...

PUBG Corp. backs out of lawsuit against Epic Games and Fortnite

So they finally realized how laughable this lawsuit was and that they had no chance at winning. I guess the lawyers are the only ones getting something out of this.

Star Citizen unveils the Legatus Pack that costs $27,000

At this point I see this whole thing more as a social experiment on how much you can get people to cash out on the mere promise of a product. I'm not going anywhere near this but I'll keep on watching from a safe distance.

Meet The Xbox Adaptive Controller, Microsoft's Controller For Gamers With Limited Mobility

Amusingly enough the other video game company that I recently heard is doing stuff for disabled people is ... EA. Pretty ironic considering all the other shitty practices they have.

Disgaea 5 PC delayed due to players unlocking the full game from the demo

Pure laziness. They most likely didn't want to bother removing the actual assets needed for the game after the demo point and just packaged the full game with some basic check.

Dark Souls 1 to be delisted off Steam, Dark Souls: Remastered to take its place

The new graphical improvements look pretty decent, especially the lighting. Still, as someone who played the original the improvements are not noticeable enough that I'd bother to replay it. Pretty nice for newcomers to the series though.

Microsoft brings more classic games to backwards compatibility, such as Morrowind, Conker, and more

They have to recompile each game for Xbox 360 BC. That's the most detailed article I found on it a while ago.

Microsoft brings more classic games to backwards compatibility, such as Morrowind, Conker, and more

I just saw this video, I don't have an Xbone but Microsoft has been doing some crazy work with BC: EDIT: Original X360 is not as blurry as that, see below (it did seem kinda weird to me). The Xbox One X version still looks really good though.

Vivendi to sell all shares back to Ubisoft, will cease acquisition attempts

    Errr, 250€ = 3.4% of Ubisoft ? Maybe a million or K missing ?

Epic Games to give away Paragon assets that are worth $12 million

Nope. Quote from description on the Unreal Marketplace: "Licensed for use with the Unreal Engine only." Still pretty cool.

Games that got substantially better after launch, talk some about those you experienced.

My usual go-to example for games that had terrible launch but got better is Batman: Arkham Knight. The PC release was so bad both bug and performance wise they pulled it from Steam. It's been back for awhile and is a pretty good game (some Batmobile annoyances aside), but I'm not sure the game...

    Hacking Vita Version 3.67 Hacked

You might wanna add that he might release a way to update Enso to 3.65 from 3.60 if he gets enough time to get it done.

    Hacking VitaShell ported to 3.67

So summarizing the news, maybe Enso update to 3.65 for those on 3.60 relatively soon and a full 3.67 exploit much later (end of the year/next year).

Editorial 'The Lord of the Rings: The Living Card Game' Preview

The online digital card game market already felt saturated, but there's MTG Arena, Artifact (Dota-themed card game) and now LOTR all coming soon. Pretty sure that with all the current established ones plus those newcomers, some of them will need to die.

System Shock reboot to go on indefinite "hiatus" 18 months after successful Kickstarter

Some people already mentioned a few, but yes there were good results out of Kickstarter. Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2, Shadowrun Returns, Banner Saga, Hyper Light Drifter, Divinity:Original Sin, Darkest Dungeon, Superhot. I just don't think it's good to generalize that Kickstarter is simply...

Gaming Do Sony themselves make any good games?

I read what you said perfectly what are you talking about ? What I contested was the "most of those bought up studios now also develop for Nintendo or Microsoft" part. Which is just false. But if you don't read my post properly it's hard to realize it I guess. :P

Gaming Do Sony themselves make any good games?

Not exactly a Sony fan, but saying that only Japan Studio develops exclusively for Sony platforms is like, just wrong ? Guerilla Games is owned by Sony and has been developing games for them since 2005. No games on other platforms. Sucker Punch Productions, Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, Santa...
