    Old IOSes on the Wii do not have SDHC support, so in order for a homebrew app to support SDHC, it must either use a newer IOS or get direct access to the SDHC card and mount the filesystem itself. Some homebrew apps, especially older ones, do not have this implemented.

    Instead of trying to reverse engineer WiiConnect24, why not try to get some dev somewhere to build a completely new News/Weather/Everybody Votes/Check Mii Out Channel. It would probably be easier to start from scratch than to try and reverse engineer the broken versions that Nintendo supplies.

    It really sounds like your NAND is toast, and its probably not from homebrew; nothing lasts forever. Sorry, but if BootMii says you have a crap ton of bad blocks, then it probably isn't worth your time to revive this thing.

    Did the Seagate software (Seatools?) offer to try and repair your drive. Sometimes you can fix a hard drive with problems like that by using the manufacturer's software to repair it. Using Seatools to fill the drive with 0's and then reformatting might also revive it.

    Of course, there's always option C: Devolution. If the Family Edition Wii can read GCN discs (as many of us thought it would with the adapter), then the whole anti-piracy thing isn't going to be a problem. Only classic controller support needs to be implemented for it to work.
