SEGA Genesis Collection revealed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC

The fun thing about the previous collection on Steam is that the ROM files were all in standard formats, unencrypted, in a folder. If you wanted to use an Everdrive or any emulator of your choice and still "go legit" you totally could. The "HD" mobile port of Sonic 1 was also his, and he did a...

    Hacking Nintendont

Wii U Widescreen makes the Wii U indicate a wide-screen image to your TV over HDMI (otherwise it indicates 4:3) so that you don't have to manually set the mode on your TV. It doesn't change what gets rendered at all, so unless the game supports 16:9 or you use the force wide-screen hack, the...

    Hacking Nintendont

Some do, some don't. VC is all in stretched widescreen when I launch it from Wiiflow, but from the system menu it's correctly pillarboxed to preserve the 4:3 aspect ratio. Wiiware is a mixed bag. Most 4:3 games seem to be at the correct aspect ratio, while a few (Blaster Master: Overdrive) are...

    Hacking Nintendont

I believe you'll have to use a USB loader for that. The Nintendont menu is mainly for testing and development, so it isn't focused on convenience.

    Hacking Nintendont

We're talking about games that don't have HDMI support made originally for consoles without native 5.1 support. It would be next to impossible for the Wii U to know if there's surround data encoded in the stereo audio without itself decoding the audio--which isn't a good idea for a few reasons...

    Hacking Nintendont

Sideskroll, you've got it backwards. Dolby Pro Logic and Pro Logic II are legacy standards for matrix encoding surround sound into standard stereo (and presumably analog, when the standards were created) signal, and likewise extracting from the same. It can be used over a digital medium or...

Hardware The Improved GameCube Adapter from Mayflash

I believe the manufacturer is Chinese, so there's almost certainly a way to get the adapter in China. As for who sells it there, I couldn't answer.

    Hacking Nintendont

I hope all is well now. Nobody has been saying that though. That's exactly what we're saying should happen. The game itself, yes, absolutely. There was discussion, however, of having separate color coding for the patch. At present there's just a check box--a yes or no indicator--that is often...

    Hacking Nintendont

Do we know that for sure, or is that all that's been confirmed as working? I thought the big problem was fake Wii U Pro controllers.

No idea about that one. I have a HORI classic controller (the one with analog triggers) that works perfectly, so at least some will work.

English is screwed up in terms of standardization between English-speaking countries because it was never standardized until after the culture of the North American colonies started to split from their parent. These both work for me. Can you provide more info?

Duh, you guys. Nintendont has to haze that newbie storage device to prove its loyalty and establish a pecking order. Hence, initiating. ;)

Hacking Importing Saves Without Playing Game

GX has never given me any such requirement. Maybe that will work? If not, maybe try playing the game one in a loader that logs time in the actual Wii games you play? I know Wiiflow can do that.

    Hacking Nintendont

According to some, Nintendont introduces just enough lag when not using native controls that it hampers competitive play in SSB Melee (and evidently Ikaruga?). Unfortunately, nobody who experiences the issue can provide much info beyond "I can feel the lag!" So the developers don't know whether...

More accurately, he asked the competitive Smash community for help getting evidence that the issue even currently exists, so that he can look into it if it does. No response, therefore no evidence, therefore no fix and possibly no actual issue to be fixed in the first place.

Hardware The Improved GameCube Adapter from Mayflash

For whatever it's worth, the inevitable lag from the previous Mayflash GC/Wii adaptor that works as a Classic controller (plus the Wii remote itself) isn't noticeable to me, personally. And yet I do notice tracking lag with the Nyko Wand and I notice video lag from post-processed upscaling. So...

Hardware The Improved GameCube Adapter from Mayflash

Every adaptor (even a straight-through cable extender) has some kind of lag. So yeah, it does. So does Nintendo's. For that matter, the original controller connected to an actual GameCube without an adaptor still has at least some kind of lag. The real questions are how much and do you notice it?

Hardware The Improved GameCube Adapter from Mayflash

Hopefully true. Besides that, Nintendo typically does not bother with intentionally blocking third-party accessories other than cheat devices and flash kits. There are tons of unlicensed controllers that don't mimic Nintendo's with 100% accuracy and could be blocked right now. And yet they...
