    I'm not trying to say that they are wrong, I was just pointing out that from what i've seen this isn't always true. How I tested it was a fully charged DS connected to a Kill-A-Watt type device. This may not be an accurate way to test but there is a definite change in reading as the 3D slider...

    This isn't exactly true. I've not done any extensive testing or anything, but I know that at the Kid Icarus main menu, the 3DS draws less power with 3D on than it does with it off.

    If you've updated your console in the past 2 years then the JTAG hack won't be possible for you. That just leaves flashing the DVD drive firmware which will only allow you play backup games from disk, and that can range from very easy, to impossible so you need to find out what drive you have...

    That is something you should keep an eye on though, because Wave 12 is likely to be the update that flashes drives.

    I don't know if you know about 'Waves' or not, but if you don't you might want to look them up. Call of Juarez: The Cartel was released recently and has Wave 11, Dynasty Warriors 7 also has Wave 11, and Wave 11 holds dashboard 12625. The 12625 dashboard update does not flash drive firmware.

    Firstly you would need to identify what drive you have in your Xbox, then you can look into how easy it is to dump the firmware.
