    It happens every time it loads/reads the disk. With original disks, it spins and it's reading smoothly. With backups, the laser moves all the time because the disk doesn't spin at all or it spins a little. If you can't do something about it, no problem man, you already did (and are still doing)...

    If you want a game to check it, try a sims game. It's going to drive you crazy. I thought I should tell you that, because I'm worried that the laser might get damaged from this way of reading the disks.

    WiiPower.. I think it was my fault.. I was trying to start the game through wiinertag's .dol (I thought it uses the B44 .dol that I have on the SD). I just tried to run the game with the normal B44 .dol and it started just fine, no errors, no nothing. Maybe it is the modified wiinertag .dol...

    I don't think so. I've run the game over 10 times with R8, sometimes it gives an 1167 error, but then I re-insert the disc and it works. I forgot to mention that, once with B44, it (kinda) started. Actually, it recognized the game's id etc but it initialized the drive around 4 or 5 times, then...

    I use cIOS38 rev17. Single layer games work perfectly. I dont own any other double layer backup games (I tried both Brawl and Metroid Trilogy original and they both worked (if that helps)).     One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

    Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
