Not sure about Ubuntu (never really tried to do it on that), but for windows I just found the drivers online then used Joy2key (i think) to assign controls to the ps3 remote.
I'm not a fan of COD at all but I seem to find myself playing MW2 more and more. Mainly because MAG (awesome game IMO) is empty, GG broke Killzone with the last update and its an easy way to talk to some of my friends...still sucks as a FPS though.

My mum used to be like this. She wouldn't let me use her card for anything for fear of it being stolen. I phased it out by assuring her how secure things (like paypal) were. It doesn't matter anymore though, I just use my own card

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
