I am purchasing Metroid: Other M tomorrow, and I want my Wii to be ready to play it. As of now, I am at 4.1, have bootMii, and pretty much nothing else.
I have not installed any ios besides the one allowing me to play NSMBWii. Are there any ios that I should install right now or should I wait...
Thanks. Also, when I get Waninkoko's cIOS38_rev16-installer, and it asks me what IOS to use, the guide says that if it's your first, choose 36. Else, choose 249. If I don't know/remember if it's my first one, which option is the safest to choose?
I have 4.1 and am about to get the Trucha bug so I can get Waninkoko's cIOS and play NSMBWii on the USB, but it seems like I'm dealing with important parts of the Wii. I have bootMii boot2, but is there a way something can go wrong and I won't be able to get back to bootMii?
I have tried a lot of them so far. Nothing as of yet, but right now I'm not going to mess with anything until I get the NAND working.
It still says "Dump is for a different Wii"
I lost HBC, but my bootMii is still there, although I'm afraid it's not working properly. I'm a little nervous because my NAND backup says that it only works on a different Wii. I tried backing the new NAND up but it stopped by itself shortly after it said it was verifying.
Also, Bannerbomb...
Sorry I made a new topic. You probably don't care, but I'm in sort of a hurry, and a new topic gets more attention.
Anyway, just basically the topic title. I boot a retail NSMBWii from the disc channel and it goes to a black screen. What can I do to fix that? Thank you.
My brother has recently become paranoid by the fact that if we download a game, regardless of if we own it or not, we will be fined to the point where we can no longer live properly. So:
What happens if caught?
How often do people get caught?
How easy is it to get caught?
Do they track every...
I updated through Waninkoko's 4.1 updater, but it still asked me to update. Then, I installed "Skip Update Check" in StartPatch. However, when I would start it, it went to a black screen and stopped working.
Are there any IOSs that are required for this game to play? I'm aware updating won't do...
If staying on 3.2, you use Starfall.
The only advantages as far as I know for going to 4.1 are:
Playing channels from the SD card
Being able to go to the Shop Channel to purchase games legally
Not having to worry about a game forcing an update on you.
If you do decide to update, Preloader...
I used the "Fully SoftMod Any Wii" guide to get BootMii and upgrade to 4.1.
Whenever I try to use the Shop Channel, it just restarts my Wii. Can I fix this without updating the official way?
One main reason was that when I shut the Wii off, the disc would spin indefinately. I mostly didn't like this because I'm not the only one in the family who uses it. I was worried that someone wouldn't know/care and having the disc drive running for no reason for extended periods generally isn't...
I tried Preloader on my older Wii. I ended up not liking it. I had Starfall when I was on 3.2U and I liked it. Is StarPatch like Starfall at all? If it is, is it pretty much identical to Starfall or slightly different?
I heven't seen much talk about it so I thought that maybe it was bad or...
I looked around and found Autoboot DriveKey, among other things. If I were to get one, what else would I need to unbrick a fully bricked Wii (Installed System Menu 3.2U WAD)
