Hardware Review EZ Flash Parallel Warning - Power Strobe When DS Shut

I believe the changelog from the first kernel revision stated there is a sleep mode bug. I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume this is that bug.

EZ-Flash's new Nintendo DS flashcard Product Images with Information

Yeah it is based off the 1.25 Wood kernel which was the last open source release. Not sure what additional functionality was added from 1.25 to 1.62 aside from game fixes in the official kernel.

EZ-Flash's new Nintendo DS flashcard Product Images with Information

Given that this is not EZ Flash first slot-1 cart and it is based off the Wood kernel, you would think they would release a product at least on par with cheaper carts. Outside of ntrboot built in (which I have not even tested), this cart is unlikely to surpass the cheaper options. For this...

EZ-Flash's new Nintendo DS flashcard Product Images with Information

Game loading seems to be on par with other cards in terms of compatibility. R/W speeds are slow and the card is sluggish as a result. Here is hoping that this can be greatly improved over time. If they release the source code I am sure talented scene developers could improve the kernel far quicker.

Soft reset does work. Although a bug exists when trying to load a game after performing soft reset. More than half the time launching a game after soft reset results in white screen.

EZ-Flash's new Nintendo DS flashcard Product Images with Information

I did the paper trick and that was successful. Really hope EZ Flash team will or has already addressed this in future revisions as the cart is noticeably easier to insert into the slot than the more common flashcarts. I will update this post in a bit with a picture of the game it displays as.

EZ-Flash's new Nintendo DS flashcard Product Images with Information

Something interesting. The cart will not boot on my hacked DSi XL. In fact it does not even show up in the menu. Surprisingly, it does work on my hacked DSi. Both on 1.4.5 hiyaCFW SDNAND. Maybe has something to do with ntrboot? Edit: This cart is weird. Works on DSLite (autoboot) and hacked...

EZ-Flash's new Nintendo DS flashcard Product Images with Information

Price is a tad high for the current state the cart is in from a compatibility standpoint. If compatibility can be brought up to near official Wood the price would be more palatable.

EZ-Flash's new Nintendo DS flashcard Product Images with Information

I think someone mentioned on a forum I read it is based on Wood 1.25 source and thus is not up to date as far a AP fixes built into the loader. Some games that load on Wood for the OG R4 and r4ids.cn based carts do not load on this cart.

EZ-Flash's new Nintendo DS flashcard Product Images with Information

I purchased this cart via Aliexpress. Seems nice overall. Game loading, menu loading, and game compatibility are currently holding this cart back from being a viable alternative to carts such as the Ace3DS+ or DSOne. Pretty shell though... haha.

Still not able to load Metroid Zero Mission. Has anyone been able to get it to load successfully?

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

Is this why I was unable to save in all Castlevania games since 0.4.1? I posted here but since nobody else had issues I just assumed it was my battery.

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

I suspect the battery of my purple Supercard SD (miniSD) may be the culprit of my inability to save. This blue Supercard SD does not have a battery but has save issues as well. If anyone has any ideas on something I could try (short of buying a new cart haha) I'm stumped as to why I am...

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

I have done that. Played the game. Save in game. Power off DS Lite. Next time I load the Supercard it dumps the SRAM to a .sav file. Then I go to load the game and when the game starts all save slots have no save data.

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

Loving the current functionality of the firmware and kernel. Soft reset back to game selection menu will be fantastic. Already bookmarked this project to track progress. Keep up the great work.

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

2 GB microSD in a microSD 2 miniSD adapter is more than sufficient for those miniSD variants. I ordered an adapter literally minutes after my post. Haha
