    Yeah dude broken iPhones go for a lot on eBay. Here even a 3G or a 3GS can sell for $150+ easy when it's broken.

    Yea tried it with a 15w Iron, No go then went and bought a 30w still no go so I said fuck it and modded the replacement power jack and soldered it in a different way and gave it extra security with a good helping with Super Glue (though I may also put some hot glue there too, can never be too safe with power jacks and the amount of abuse they get)

    I've got a 40w desoldering iron that doesn't even cut through tin based solder. I want to get a hot air rework/soldering station eventually and see how high I can crank the iron on that to actually get the stuff to flow. Hate tin based solder -_-

    in the end i flattened the power jacks pins that should have gone through the mobo to be soldered the other side and soldered it to the top, which is a lot more fragile so then i went ape shit with superglue to add strength, that should do the trick mind you may still hot glue it later if I can find my hot glue gun
