Maybe you wouldn't think it because of my posts but I have modded a lot of consoles just for myself. My soldering looks bad from the pictures and while they're not the best I've done I'm feeling very uncomfortable soldering directly to a battery like this. I haven't done it before. Now the mod works fine but I'm not going to walk around worrying if my solder joints will stick to the battery so I've decided to remove the new battery and re-install an official vita one. Already ordered on ebay. I feel strongly for modding and improving stuff like this and this is the first time I've decided to not go through with it. For me it's safety FIRST.

Yes it is

I saw some day mod that was to sell on my local auction portal and it was as i remember more crawed on backplate mod that used probably 4000-5000 mAh cell from tablet - probably also Samsung. I talked with seller and he stated that this mod not work properly on stock batery mobo, but work better on that cell mobo :/ i also was made at Vita Wifi model... but i think that your mod should be good for 3G model also. How many hours on stanby/gameing it last?

Exactly 40% longer.
Depends how do you use it.
I do with wifi on (multiplayer) + Bluetooth on (wireless speaker) + brightness 100%
Plus heavy games, witch kicks hardware to maximum load.

On regular play wifi/Bluetooth off, brightness 60-65%, sound 30% , I got 6 hours instead 4-4,5 hours.

That would be awesome if an online store started selling pre-modded higher capacity batteries. I too am too nervous to do this mod.

For anyone wondering, the actual cutting of plastic inside the shell to make room for a bigger battery is piss easy. The plastic breaks very easy. Just get pliers and twist off the parts you want. It's possible to fit two batteries in there.

i actually modded my vita and replaced battery with Galaxy s6 battery( not the edge one ), its quiet unstable as it switches off at 50% assuming battery is dead but i can switch it back on and continue playing till its 25% maybe a bad battery or something. im actually planning to swap it with s7 edge battery but not really sure since my first experience was not what i expected.
