Same issue. Solution: Return it for a refund and buy a controller that is compatible. PowerA will not release a Windows 7/8/10 driver. The email I received from them stated the reasoning as: "We did not intend on it being used for anything other than the switch. We do have other compatible controllers."
So... fk them. Get a refund. Shame too cause the controller (BotW) is epic.

You can't blame them for that since this controller isn't made for PC.

I agree with both post above me in different ways. Trying to use these controllers on PC, at least for me was more of a curiosity. My main PC controllers are the Hyperkin ProCube and I don't see that changing any time soon. I did see that someone made a driver for wired Switch Pro controllers. You can find the thread on Reddit. For now, if you buy these controllers, you should have Switch usage on mind.

Blaming them? That's not what I'm trying to do. I'm letting this guy know to get his money back since the company does not support this for use on a PC. There is no driver. The company will not make a driver. It's made for a switch lol
They could make a driver but they "will not" - So... in a way, yeah that is literally their fault?
PowerA does make other controllers but they are not as good quality as the BotW or Mario editions of this specific controller.
xpadder, joy2key,DS4Tool, and others can be used to program it but it's pretty half assed when you can just get another controller with full compatibility.
Steam recognized the controller for one game for me. Wolfenstein. The controls were all over the place though.

It's not a case of Steam recognising it for one game, it's the game being programmed to be compatible with that kind of controller. If I had to make a wild assumption, the controller would use DirectInput drivers to function on the Switch, since the Joy Cons use that. Most of your fancy Steam games will be looking for XInput, which is the library used for Xbox controllers. Some games will support both, but not every one does.

I actually figured out how to do this. And it works for any DirectInput controllers. It's called XOutput. Basically it takes DirectInput and spoofs it to be XInput. Plus, it's easier to use than something like x360ce. I'll leave a link if anybody wants it, but a quick Google search should get you what you need.

They work if you use it with Steam Big Picture mode enabled. I use a Nintendo Switch Power A wired controller all the time. Since they have the 2 extra buttons on the bottom side that I remap for Call of Duty & all 1st person shooters.
