I am not new to the homebrew scene, though i have a few modded consoles i am stuck on this ps3.
Spent three days days trying to fix my current situation.

I bought a console that was ps3 modded then upgraded to 4.82 OFW. multiman and other apps were still there but nothing ran.
Spent many hours figuring out that keys were banned or blacklisted to not run. unable to install any packages i decided to mod another console and my original idea was to copy from that.

On my cfw console there is a way to create a firmware update for the ofw.
clone cfw to ofw

Now i know i can open console out and install hard drive in my pc, format, PS3eXploit, then cfw install. I am trying to avoid that as if i open console i may as well install my teensy+ and downgrade firmware.

Im hoping that someone can point me in a proper direction....

Thank you

Why didn't you just updated your modded ps3 to a 4.82 CFW directly, instead of 4.82 OFW?

Maybe you should just try to flash a 4.82 CFW directly.

I bought the ps3 it was suppose to be running CFW 4.82
The hd must have been copied from a CFW or has been updated from lower version CFW to OFW. I have tried formatting, restoring hd threw ps3. Then running PS3eXploit with hex and firmware always corrupt.
From what I read it's because there still traces of Cfw and it needs to be wiped on pc

OK so I figured out the solution..

I upgrade the hard drive with a old 320gb had laying around from laptop.
Format with console and installed OFW
I then used PS3eXploit redthetrainer/ps3/norNandWriter to trigger QA flag check
Then Updated with mod CFW
System runs perfect

In retrospec i should have just installed the new hard drive from the beginning but oh the fun in learning from difficulties.

So anyone with issues of updating console from CFW to OFW the above will correct the issue..

Optional: install REBUG toolbox and enable QA flag. this will allow you to install/upgrade CFW from update menu without running exploit
